Health insurance is mandatory for all residents of Germany and basically there are two different options: public health insurance and private health insurance. During this info event, you will learn from Matthias Kurzawski (Techniker Krankenkasse) everything about the German public and private health insurance scheme. As every situation is individual, personal consultations are possible after the info event.

June 2024Language Course: Basics of the German Language
We are pleased to announce that we will offer the basic German language course again in June 2024. The course is designed for complete beginners and will give you the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge of the German language in order to master simple situations in everyday life in Germany.
13 June 2023, 11am Who will pay my pension some day...?
In this information session, the international unit at the VBL will introduce you to the topic of pension provisions in Europe and inform about the FindyourPension/ETS portal. After the introduction, you will receive general information on the German statutory pension insurance, the Deutsche Rentenversicherung (DRV), and the occupational pension insurance with the Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL). The latter two presentations will focus on the German pension landscape and look at your rights as a mobile researcher regarding affiliation, pension payment, benefits, and other points of interests. The event will also provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions related to pension provisions.
